GOTH IN PARIS

GOTH IN PARIS

It seems like a dark cloud has swooped over the backstage of Paris this season which is spot on because its winter in S.A. It seems like most of designers channelled their inner Goth kids in preparation for their Fall collections in the year 2012. From Make up to Hair elements of a Gothic nature was prevalent and in most cases the main feature. Serve smokey eyes to strong dark lips to dramatic hair styles that are edgy and elegant at the same time.

VICTOR & ROLF

Viktor & Rolf chose to go the root of dark glamour and really eclectic dark Paris women who lives in luxury and breathes it. Dark lips and long dark toned wavy hair paired with a pale face to finish of the look. The girls walked down the runway in furs, sheers, printed on sheers. This toned down French-Victorian vibe i really loved really unexpected with this from them.

FATIMA LOPES

Fatima Lopes was also one of the designers who went the goth with a touch of vampy and class. I really loved the whole sexy elements in the collection and it was for a woman with curves and who is not afraid to let a world know. A very strong collection with mixes of reds, pinks, browns and nudes. The  main material used was leather which i think is used and will be for Fall and Spring. Amazing head pieces as well which had a Gothic/demonic reference. The reds almost looked like blood splashed on the silhouette, gorgeous.

STEPHANE ROLLAND

Stephane Rolland one of my favourites to watch and this collection was dark. mysterious but overflowing with elegance and luxury again. The girls looked like goddesses, goth goddesses. A lot of hard materials were used in this collection and it was perfection. The Staphane Rolland woman this season was again strong woman who knows herself and her style, she is sexy and very much independent. The application and detailing is magnificent and remember this is Haute Couture, ITS ALL HAND SEWN!!!!! Yes respect is in order.

RICK OWENS

Rick Owens the other male in this industry who never fails to deliver on things dark and twisted. Ive noticed that his designs have become more and more functional. The stuff on the runway i thing ordinary people can also wear now. I don't know how to interpret this man but i sense darkness in the collection with the pieces of fabric on the faces and the overall garments.

Fashion took a on a darker side this season and it could be totally different for the next. So for those who predict, STOP IT.

Here are just some other designers who caught the dark cold for Fashion Week Fall 2012.
